DESCRIPTION:Taste of Cayman – Saturday 13th April 2024\nTaste of Cayman is Cayman’s largest food and drink event held annually in Grand Cayman. \n\n\n\nOver the past 35 years Taste of Cayman has grown from humble beginnings to become Cayman’s largest culinary celebration. In its first year the festival centered around a group of restaurants from the Cayman Islands Restaurant Association meeting in a field for a chili cook off. \nOver the years the event has evolved to having over 5\,000 attendees\, multiple competitions and over 18\,000 portions of food enjoyed. \nThe 2024 event promises to be bigger and better than ever before\, celebrating Cayman traditions and a rich culinary heritage through Heavy Cake and Mixology competitions\, plus some exciting new features! \nAs well as sampling food from Cayman’s best restaurants guests can also enjoy the following entertainment: \nKitchen Demonstrations\nSome of the island’s best chefs mix it up in the state-of-the-art kitchen as they show guests how to make their favourite local and international dishes. \nBest of Competitions\nThere are a number of awards handed out throughout the night by secret judges for Best Booth\, Best Food\, Best Drink and more. The most coveted award of the night however is the Cayman’s Favourite Restaurant award which is the only people’s choice award. \nMixologist Competitions\nCatch Cayman’s best mixologists will compete in a live cocktail-making competition. \nHeavy Cake Competition\nThe popular heavy cake competition promotes awareness of Cayman’s unofficial national dish! Cash prizes are awarded to winners of the competition\, and the finalist cakes are available for tasting within the area. \nLive Entertainment\nDance the night away with international tribute entertainers. Accompanying the tribute acts will be local musicians and a line-up of Caymanian artists to be announced soon. \nPhotobooth\nHave your photo professionally taken with fun over-sized culinary items! Your photos are instantly uploaded to Facebook\, which allows you to share the event with your friends. \nThis fun and unique occasion is truly one of the best community events in Cayman and shouldn’t be missed!

SUMMARY:Partial Solar Eclipse
DESCRIPTION:Join the CIAS to safely view the partial solar eclipse at Camana Bay\, near the cinema. \nVolunteers will be there to help explain the event\, and they will have a telescopic projection system set up to view the event safely. \nThe maximum coverage will be at 1.49pm. Nevertheless\, the Earth’s shadow will cover part of the sun from 12.40pm to 2.55pm. \nIn the Cayman Islands\, the eclipse will not be total\, yet it will be total for some other parts of the world. The CIAS will also have members live streaming the event from the totality zone in Texas\, so watch out for the link!
